Current Working Title: Teleport Tails

Concept statement / Story:

You will be playing as a test subject for a company who has just created a brand new device which allows the user to record a place they have been previously and can later return back to that exact location. You are to use this device as well as your own logic and problem solving skills to navigate through the test chambers to test the capabilities of the device and get the prize you were promised.

Detailed explanation on how the Game concept was developed:

 This game came to me over many different stages of thought however I was always of the mind set of wanting to make a puzzle game of some description, but there was always something that felt ‘missing’, and that was something that makes the game have a point that stands out, a main mechanic the the game revolves around. This took me quite a bit of time to think about until it suddenly suddenly hit me, something that allows you to go back to a previous part of the level with things that have been changed, a teleportation mechanic!

The setting of this game will be set in a clean sterile environment created specifically for the purposes of testing the previously mentioned device (think portal). But I also want the player character to not be a human but instead a bipedal cat. I want this game to be inviting enough so that most people that look at this game feel welcomed while playing and not feel like they have just been tossed into the deep end, and are expected to know what to do right away which is why;

Target audience:

The people that I want to target with this game are people who are already interested in puzzle games but also those of whom this may be their first puzzle game, as this would both be challenging enough for a veteran player to enjoy but also provide steady introduction to gameplay and puzzle mechanics which do steadily get harder as the game progresses.

Gameplay features:

The game will have; 

  • Approximately 15 - 20 levels.
  • 2D movement (Walk left, Walk right and a jump).
  • A teleportation mechanic.
  • A timer to show how long you took in each level. 

(with a ‘High Score’ + “Score Screen” if given enough time).

  • A level select.
  • Title screen.
